The City of Melbourne has announced that
offices will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 20, due to the
excessive rainfall accompanying Tropical Storm Fay. Normal
operations are expected to be resumed on Thursday, Aug. 21.
Emergency services and other
essential operations will continue on Wednesday. Other
employees are to report to work only if directed to do so by
supervisors.
Telephone inquiries and reports
should be directed to the Melbourne Police Department
Communications Center at (321) 409-2200, 409-2201, 409-2202,
or 409-2203. Report emergencies with a 911 call.
Requests for sandbags should be
directed to the Public Works and Utilities Department at
674-5761. |
TELEVISED MEETINGS:
Regular City Council meetings are televised on cable
channel 199. Meetings
are the second and fourth Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.,
and are normally televised six times in the following two weeks. Broadcasts are
at 12:01 a.m. on Thursdays, 9 a.m. Fridays, and 6 p.m. Sundays. (Space
