Officer of the Year
Mike Sampieri

Officer Mike Sampieri is the “Officer of the Year.” He consistently displayed exceptional knowledge of tactical and technical skills while performing his duties in an outstanding manner. He is commended for his quick response, teamwork, and exceptional professionalism that led to the apprehension of a violent felony suspect who allegedly shot a woman in the head. Officer Sampieri identified the suspect vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop, taking two suspects into custody.

Employee of the Year
Natasha Saunders

Natasha Saunders, Records Clerks, was selected as “Employee of the Year” for her attention to detail while providing a crash report to a customer she recognized as being involved in a other at-fault crashes. She notified an agency that was inquiring about the crash without being aware of the many other incidents in which the man was involved. Her attention to detail may prevent that driver from causing further damages and injuries.

Communications Officer of the Year
Robert Evenson

Robert Evenson is the “Communications Officer of the Year” for his superior communication skills and initiative while working a shoplifting/vehicle pursuit incident involving multiple agencies. Robert superbly handled several radio calls from different jurisdictions that were looking for the same individual, and eventually successfully patched the call countywide. The result of his efforts came in the arrest of the suicidal subject after the individual crashed his vehicle in Merritt Island.
