PAYMENT OPTIONS
Cash, check or money orders made payable to City of Melbourne are accepted by mail in response to billing statements.

. The account number is located at the top of your utility bill. An automated telephone payment service is also available and can be accessed by calling 608-7100 and selecting Option 3.

Automatic Debits from your checking account are also available.   A signed authorization agreement and voided check are required. The agreement form is available at City Hall and as a download in pdf format. Free pdf reader software is needed, and is available as a free download

Payments made after 8:30 a.m. will be applied the next business day.

Delinquent Accounts 
Accounts are considered past due if not paid within 25 days of the billing date and are subject to late fees and service disconnection. Service will be resumed only after payment of past due balance and a $30.00 reconnection charge has been made.

 

To establish a new water account, the following information is needed:

Driver's License or ID

5. Documentation of Lease (rental) or Ownership (proof of purchase).

Deposit - The deposit amount varies and must be paid in advance of service with cash or check. Credit cards cannot be accepted for deposits. See the rate tables for more information.

To open an account or obtain information about a current account, contact the Utility Billing Department at (321) 608-7100 or go to the Utility Counter located on the first floor at City Hall, 900 E. Strawbridge Ave.  E-mail inquiries receive a response within two working days. Send fax messages to (321) 608-7199.

Customer requested turn-off and turn-on
Service turn-on requires next day service. 
A $20.00 service initiation fee will appear on the first bill for new service connections.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The City of Melbourne is not responsible or liable for loss or damage to any person or property whatsoever, resulting directly or indirectly from flooding and water discharge beyond the water meter. Metered water is the property of the customer and it is the customer's responsibility to make sure that all hose bibs, showers, appliances, faucets, etc. inside and outside the dwelling are turned off to avoid flooding.
